About Dr Sam Sfameni

Dr Sam Sfameni completed his medical degree (MB BS) and graduated from Melbourne University in 1977. After 2 years of internship at St Vincent’s Hospital he undertook a year of training in neonatal paediatrics and a further year in pathology before entering the training program at the Royal Women’s Hospital in obstetrics and gynaecology in 1982. After completing the 3 years of training he went to the United Kingdom for 18 months for further experience before returning to Melbourne to complete his training at the Royal Women’s Hospital. He became a fellow of the Royal Australian College of Obstetricians & Gynaecologists (FRACOG) in 1988 and then a fellow of the Royal College of Obstetricians & Gynaecologists (FRCOG) in 2000.

Dr Sam Sfameni has worked in obstetrics and gynaecology for over 25 years in both the private and public sector.  His private practice is based in Fitzroy and Essendon encompassing the north western suburbs. In clinical practice Dr Sam Sfameni is experienced in the management of high risk pregnancies and also a wide range of gynaecological disorders as outlined in this web page.
Dr Sam Sfameni has lived in Essendon for over 40 years and naturally follows the Bombers. He is married with 5 children (4 girls 1 boy) and in his spare time spends as much time at home as possible.
